About CROC

The Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic is a fiscally sponsored project of the Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco. CROC empowers domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking survivors in San Francisco to understand their legal rights and options, and we provide free legal services to help survivors enforce and protect those rights. CROC operates as a collaborative supported by four member agencies: API Legal Outreach; Bay Area Legal Aid; the Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco; and W.O.M.A.N., Inc. Our office is located in the Inner Mission District of San Francisco.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) Case Manager

About the Job:

The Case Manager serves as a primary point of contact for CROC’s Spanish speaking clients, answering phone calls; completing intakes with prospective clients over the phone and in person; triaging clients to the appropriate attorney; interpreting for CROC’s attorneys in interviews; and providing crisis intervention, criminal legal system orientation, court support, and resource and referral counseling.  This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).

Salary range:  $25.00-$30.00/hour.

Remote Work/Hybrid Schedule:

This position can work a hybrid remote/in-person schedule.  This position will be scheduled to work in the office (in San Francisco) at least 3 days a week and will be required to provide in-person court support in San Francisco.

Our expectation is that we will be able to resume our in-person clinics in 2025, at which time this position will be expected to work in-person at those clinics, alternating Thursday evening hours and alternating Saturday day-time hours.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • At least one year of direct client experience working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, or human trafficking.  This is the most important criterion for this position, and candidates who have no experience working with this population of survivors cannot be considered for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent oral, written, client service, and advocacy skills

  • Bilingual English / Spanish required (verbal and written fluency) (Bilingualism is a requirement for this position, and candidates who are not bilingual cannot be considered for this position.)

  • Able to interact effectively with diverse populations and clients in crisis and to work calmly and effectively with callers and drop-in clients

  • Able to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Must be computer literate and able to learn new programs (Word, Excel, WordPerfect - sigh, yes, we actually do still use WordPerfect)

  • Knowledge of Kemp’s Case Works or other client databases is also helpful
