Our Impact

Every year…

At least 700 individual clients will be given information regarding restraining orders.

At least 100 victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking will be provided assistance to navigate the criminal legal system.

The Clinic was so helpful, it gave me strength and helped me stand up for what is right. Everyone was calming and empowering. It’s so nice to have great people in my corner.

CROC’s goal has never been to obtain a certain number of restraining orders, but to provide as respectful, helpful, and effective a service as possible to survivors in order to help them and their children remain safe, based on the client’s choices of what is best for them and their children. If their choice is to seek a restraining order, they benefit from our expertise in this area. If they choose not to follow through with the restraining order process, we counsel them on their options, provide referrals as appropriate, and make sure they know we will always leave the door open for them to return if necessary.  Our best measure of success in that regard is not whether we obtain a restraining order for a client, but whether the client feels comfortable coming back to us for help time and time again, knowing they will not be judged by us, as they navigate the difficult and ever-changing landscape of leaving an abusive relationship.
