Education and Technical Assistance
Creating sustainable safety for survivors by forging community relationships and helping other stakeholders provide survivor-centered and trauma-informed care.
CROC works to educate and support individuals, advocates, service providers, and systems personnel who intervene in the lives of families touched by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
As the primary agency in San Francisco providing restraining order assistance for over three decades, CROC possesses a wealth of expertise and information on this subject. CROC routinely conducts trainings on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and the laws and procedures governing restraining orders and survivor safety. CROC provides training and technical assistance to private attorneys and a wide variety of community agencies, including domestic violence shelters, universities, law schools, crisis lines, the District Attorney’s Office, victim advocates, child custody evaluators, and mediators.
CROC aims to ensure that service providers are prepared to discuss the pros and cons of different legal protections with their clients, thereby empowering survivors to understand their options and choose what is best for themselves and their family.
CROC also educates stakeholders in the Bay Area and throughout California about domestic violence and sexual assault legislative and social science updates.
